Read BPI's guidance on workforce develop needs

Saratoga Springs, NY - The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) responded to a US Department of Energy (DOE) Request for Information that was due on January 26.

In December DOE issued a Request for Information on the content and proposed programmatic requirements for newly funded programs. The Department will use the information to plan and guide funding opportunities for the State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Program, Energy Auditor Training Program, and Career Skills Training Program.

These programs are funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. The programs will support a more equitable energy efficiency and buildings-focused home performance and electrification workforce. The RFI requests guidance on workforce development owner training strategies, expanding access to high quality jobs, and equitable access to federal funding.

BPI has established relationships with a network of 107 training institutions who administer BPI certification exams across the nation. BPI worked closely with the Test Centers and proctors to develop the response, elevating their experience with diverse workforce populations in all parts of the country.
