BPI Welcomes Daniela Freeman as Manager of Standards

Saratoga Springs, NY: Building Performance Institute (BPI) is proud to welcome Daniela Freeman as Manager of Standards.

As Manager of Standards, Ms. Freeman will be responsible for handling the development, setup, and maintenance activities for BPI standards consistent with the requirements of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Essential Requirements and BPI-1 Standards Procedures Manual. She’ll work closely with the Standards committees and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Ms. Freeman previously served as Standards and Compliance Manager for PIDX International, which develops royalty-free, open, technology-agnostic standards for data exchange in the energy industry. Her background includes management of standards technical committees, benchmarking, publications market research, and strategic planning. Ms. Freeman also has significant board experience. She has served on the board of Writespace Houston and the Society for Standards Professionals (SES) and acted as executive secretary at PIDX.

Ms. Freeman says, “I greatly enjoy working with SMEs with specialized technical knowledge, helping them find ways to transform their knowledge into clear, concise communication that end-users can read with ease. I’m proud to bring my skills to the challenge of retrofitting American homes for improved comfort and reduced energy use. I’m excited to join the BPI team and I look forward to sharing my passion for standards and experience with ANSI to strengthen our mission.”

“We’re proud to welcome Dani Freeman to BPI,” says Larry Zarker, CEO of BPI. “We were very fortunate to have Sue Carson in this role for many years, and she left a tremendous legacy at BPI. We couldn’t be more pleased with Dani’s skills and depth of experience to move forward after Sue’s well-deserved retirement. We look forward with anticipation to see how she, Kevin Powell, and the standards team will guide BPI standards into the future.”

Daniela Freeman (Dani) graduated Summa Cum Laude in Literature from the University of Houston in 2006. She lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband, son, and cat.
