DOE seeks input to design funding opportunities supported by BIL and IRA

With the large amount of funding for workforce development in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the U.S Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking input from the training and certification community on how this money should be spent.  DOE’s Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) has shared three new workforce programs and asked for input regarding their structure between now and January 26, 2023.  Now is the time to join us in responding to DOE’s Request for Information (RFI).

Changes to take effect in 2023

Building science and energy auditing practices are continuously evolving. There is a regular flow of new technology and techniques as well as new career ladders for those in the home performance industry, so all BPI certifications are periodically updated.

BPI’s Building Analyst (BA) and Envelope Professional (EP) certifications have been a staple in the industry for over 20 years. In 2020, we convened a Scheme Committee comprised of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to evaluate the BA and EP against the current state of industry.
