Accelerate return on investment.

Most home performance retrofit projects will pay for themselves over time in reduced energy consumption and lower utility bills. But thanks to numerous incentive programs – including many funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) – you can accelerate that return on investment.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®

This flagship initiative from the Department of Energy (DOE) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a national program offering a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort at home, while helping to protect the environment.

An increasing number of utilities, state energy offices and other agencies are using Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® as an important part of their residential energy efficiency portfolio.

BPI is deeply involved in the ongoing development and deployment of this important program. In fact, many state-level Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® programs require that the work be performed by individuals with BPI credentials. Click here to find out if this program is running in your state.

Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE)

DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the NC Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Simply select your state on the interactive map to find out what incentives are available in your area, many of which will require that the work be performed by individuals with BPI credentials.

Weatherization Assistance Programs

The Weatherization Assistance Program enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. During the last 32 years, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program has provided weatherization services to more than 6.2 million low-income families. Many weatherization assistance programs use the services of BPI certified professionals.

Weatherization was allocated $5 billion in funding from the ARRA, allowing state-run programs to expand to serve more families. If you believe you may qualify for weatherization assistance, click here and select your state on the map for more information.
