Green earthThe Building Performance Institute (BPI) is pleased to announce a continued expansion in the number of affiliate organizations who are delivering home performance contractor training and BPI credentialing services across the country.  The following organizations have recently formalized affiliate agreements with BPI:  
  • CLEAResult Consulting, Inc.-CLEAResult is an energy efficiency consulting firm with expertise in program design, development, implementation, and evaluation. We support programs targeting the residential, commercial, institutional and industrial sectors, leveraging our experience in energy efficiency, demand side management (DSM), emissions and Greenhouse Gas Reductions, environmental conservation, renewable energy, and energy resource acquisition. Our staff has broad experience working with utilities, all levels of government, energy services companies, energy efficiency contractors, residential energy auditors, product manufacturers and retailers, environmental advocates, and other energy market participants. Our unique understanding of energy markets and the interactions between various market participants enables us to design and implement energy efficiency programs, peak reduction programs, and other efficiency and environmental programs that succeed by providing persistent, sustainable, and measurable results. At CLEAResult, we listen closely to our clients so that we thoroughly understand their goals. We then build and implement programs that achieve the results that our clients seek.   • Comfort Institute, Inc.- Comfort Institute supports HVAC service/replacement contractors nationwide who are expanding their problem solving abilities and profits through Home & Duct Performance diagnostics and repair.  CI provides technical classroom, DVD and in-field training in all areas of home performance, customized for the unique needs of HVAC contractors. Classes are held at locations throughout the country. CI distributes all the needed diagnostic instruments, and many repair products.  CI supplies its member contractors with an extensive library of consumer marketing and sales tools, as well as advanced sales and marketing training.
  • E-Star Colorado-E-Star™ is a Colorado non-profit organization committed to advancing energy efficiency in housing. To meet our mission E-Star offers programs designed to help improve energy efficiency of both new and existing homes.
  • EnergyLogic, Inc.-EnergyLogic is Colorado's leading provider of energy efficiency and conservation services. EnergyLogic has had a role in improving over 10,000 new homes in Colorado. We've also helped homeowners all around the Front Range improve the homes they live in. We help builders and homeowners stop wasting and start saving. We do this by offering the best energy auditing and energy rating services that are available today.  Our vision is a future in which all homes have the least possible impact on the Earth.   • Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation-Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC) is a national leader in designing and implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy programs that partner with private businesses to deliver value to consumers. WECC champions innovative energy initiatives that deliver short- and long-term economic and environmental benefits to consumers, businesses, and policy makers.
  • Wyoming Energy Council, Inc.-Wyoming Energy Council, Inc. is a multi-faceted company providing energy efficiency training, services, and education to the people of Wyoming. WEC is the ENERGY STAR partner for Home Performance with ENERGY STAR to Wyoming. Wyoming Home Performance is sponsored by the Wyoming Business Council, State Energy Program. WHP provides energy efficiency and building science training for existing contractors seeking to expand their retrofit opportunities while increasing customer satisfaction. As a Building Performance Institute Affiliate, WEC will begin certifying BPI Building Analyst Professionals as part of the HPwES qualification process. WHP participants receive classroom and hands-on field training in all areas of building science, including pressure diagnostics and combustion safety techniques through third-party training organizations. WEC also provides low-income weatherization services in Laramie, Albany, and Carbon County. In a unique collaboration, WEC utilizes BPI-certified professionals from its weatherization program to provide written and field testing, on-going quality assurance, and on-call support to HPwES contractors.

BPI affiliate organizations provide a series of services in local markets to support the BPI credentialing process for contracting companies and their key staff.  They deliver training to prepare candidates for BPI written and field practical examinations in the following areas:  Building Analyst, Envelope, Air Conditioning/Heat Pump, and Heating.  They also proctor the BPI written and field exams for candidates seeking BPI certification.  Some of the BPI affiliates provide mentoring services for contracting companies who are seeking to get accredited by BPI.  The mentoring process allows the contractor to have a supervised assessment on their first few comprehensive home assessments.  Lastly, some affiliates are providing BPI with an independent, third-party quality assurance on the work of contractors in their market as part of BPI's Quality Assurance program it provides for its accredited contractors.

BPI's certification, accreditation, and quality assurance services are recognized by the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, a collaborative national initiative co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy to bring about a systematic improvement to the performance of the nation's 120 million existing homes.
