Once your organization becomes a Training Affiliate, you can position your company as an expert in the field by helping contractors expand their knowledge. You can also align yourself with state energy incentive and weatherization assistance programs that recognize BPI certification standards.
Use the marketing materials provided by BPI to attract students to your training sessions and take advantage of referrals from the BPI offices and website. Then, teach your home performance courses, BPI Standards, and administer BPI exams.
Affiliates provide important and valuable mentoring services to contractors. Contractors in the home improvement trades typically do not have much experience in the house-as-a-system approach to diagnosing and correcting home performance problems. They depend on organizations like yours to help them understand how the comprehensive home assessment approach works. Your coursework helps contractors successfully solve homeowner problems. Note that BPI shares part of the contractor accreditation fees with our training affiliates.
Participate fully in the quality assurance program and use your findings to help mentor your former students and improve your own teaching for the students of the future. Share your experience and learn from the growing network of BPI training affiliate organizations through the Training Affiliates Council.
